KINGSNAKES AND
MILKSNAKES
|
|
|
|
|
Nuevo Leon Kingsnakes
Lampropeltis mexicana thayeri
Our animals originated from Bob
Applegate, Lloyd Lemke, Gary Sipperley, and Tim Gebhard's
bloodlines. Over the last 15 years, we have selectively bred
the best of these for brighter coloration.
Although we also maintain a line of
Pastel Kingsnakes, these animals are pure thayeri and are the prize
of our collection.
Price: $50 - $250

 |
Queretaro Kingsnakes
Lampropeltis ruthveni
The ruthveni in our collection originated from
Bob Applegate's line of amelanistic ruthveni. We continue to
maintain his line of amelanistic ruthveni.
Price: $125

 |
"Pastel" Kingsnakes
Lampropeltis mexicana thayeri x ruthveni
These animals originated from an amelanistic
cross obtained from Jeff Cerula. The snake had already been
crossed back into thayeri multiple times, and we continued his
tradition by crossing these animals into our line of thayeri.
We are now producing animals that are better than 75% thayeri.
Like thayeri, these amelanistics are also highly
variable. They express soft pastel blues and pinks and are an
amazing addition to anyone's reptile collection.
Amelanistic: $250 - $500
Hets: $75 - $150`

Eastern Kingsnakes
Lampropeltis getula
Also known as the "Chain King" because of their
pattern which resembles a chain-link fence, this snake is the king
of the common kingsnake. As adults these robust snakes can
exceed 6 feet in length.
We currently maintain three different localities
with different characteristics.
Price: $35 - $75
|

 |
Lower Apalachicola Kingsnakes
Lampropeltis getula "goini"
These snakes are produced from Len Krysco stock
and originated from animals collected in Calhoun and Liberty
Counties. Our animals do not resemble the "blotched" kingsnake
from outside of these regions; rather, they represent the
patternless and aberrent snakes found in the lower Apalachicola
region.
Both Kenneth Krysco and Bruce Means believe this
to be a separate subspecies of getula and we tend to agree.
Price: $50 - $100

Coastal Plains Milksnakes
Lampropeltis triangulum temporalis
These remarkable tricolors are the subject of
much debate. Scientists once believed these to be an
intergrade population of the Eastern Milksnake and the Scarlet
Kingsnake; however, recent mitochondrial DNA evidence would seem to
suggest Red Milksnake influence. Nevertheless, these animals
are in our opinion a valid subspecies and are not relict intergrade
populations.
Our snakes were obtained from Brad McKown and are
pure Calvert County, MD locality. The adults are het for
hypomelanism and we will have both hypomelanistic and het animals
available.

Eastern Milksnakes
Lampropeltis triangulum triangulum
A medium sized and highly
variable colubrid with saddles that can be red, orange or brown with
background colors of cream, peach/orange or even dark grey.
Our eastern milksnake adults are York County, PA locale and were
collected from the same area. It is densely populated with eastern
gartersnakes and the oppurtunistic milksnakes feed heavily on them
as babies.
Price: $40

|
Mole Kingsnake
Lampropeltis calligaster rhombomaculata
We have three distinct lines: Madison
County, GA; Hoke County/Scotland County, NC (Sandhills); and
possible het hypo.
The Sandhills locality snakes were obtained from
Brad McKown, the possible het hypos are from Ted Thompson and the
Madison County, GA from Bob McIvor.

RATSNAKES &
CORNSNAKES

|
|
Mexican Baird's
Ratsnakes
Pantherophis bairdi
Our founder stock came from Tommy Agosta and are
classic representatives of this subspecies. As hatchlings they
are virtually indestinguishable from their Texas counterparts;
however, as these animals mature, their morphological change is
dramatic. Their bodies turn yellow like the yellow ratsnake,
their tails orange like the everglades ratsnake, while their heads
maintain the metallic silver coloration of the Texas locality.
A truly unique ratsnake
Price: $50

Everglades
Ratsnakes
Pantherophis obsoleta rossalleni
This variation of the North American ratsnake is
almost non-existent in the wild due to habitat destruction and
encroachment. The adults of this line were recently collected
and are fine examples of the classic everglades ratsnake. The
exhibit overall orange coloration with yellow chins, creating that
"sunset" appearance.
Price: $35

|
Yellow
Ratsnakes
Pantherophis
obsoleta quadrivittata
Originating from Okechobee County, these are
"yellow". Not green not greenish not orange but yellow.
Price: $25
|

 |
|
"Greenish"
Ratsnakes
Pantherophis
obsoleta x quadrivittata
We have a soft spot in our heart for these
snakes. Long thought to be intergrades between black and
yellow ratsnakes, the coastal examples are olive drab and exhibit
both lines and saddles, much like the Gulf Hammock ratsnake.
Ours come from Clarendon County, SC and grow into very nice green
adults.
Price: $25
|

 |
|
Black Ratsnakes
Pantherophis
obsoleta
Our black rats are from Yorktown, VA. They
are jet black with bleach white chins with no intergradation.
If you want a sharp looking jet black snake, this is the one for
you.
Price: $25
|

 |
|
Grey Ratsnakes
Pantherophis
obsoleta spilotes
While not the "White Oak" phase, these snakes
from Suwanee, FL, have bold markers and clean white borders
around the saddles.
Price: $25

 |
|
"Blushing" Ghost
Cornsnakes
Pantherophis guttata
These ghost corns came from Steve DeShon and are
the weirdest we've ever seen. Although they are pure ghost
corns, the babies have a faint pink coloration between the saddles.
As the snake matures, it takes on a lavender hue with the typical
"ghost" appearance. They have to be seen to be believed.
Price: $60
|

 |
|
Tangerine
Cornsnakes
Pantherophis guttata
Produced by Ted Thompson from Susquehanna
Ectotherms, these snakes are gorgeous examples of the vivid orange
and red that make cornsakes so popular. Ted started this line
in 1983 from Okeetee locality cornsnakes and they are easily the
prettiest we've ever seen.
Price: $50
